"If I could my fear into beauty... That's what I would do..."

| Karakura.
That was the destination he'd been summoned to by the appearance of a Hollow who'd had been terrorizing the area for some time now. Around a month or so, no matter how many of his squad he sent to kill the creature they'd managed to either be injured badly or incapable of much against it. So Black Cloud took it upon himself to take the head of the damned vessel himself, eager to purify the soul and see this might first hand.
In life he found himself drawn to battles with incredible odds against him, it was one of the reasons he was in this position now, a soul reaper for the soul society. A highly respected one at that. Fighting a hollow of this caliber was 'beneath him' as some would say, but he was a humble soul and wouldn't play into such claims.
Black butterflies would dance outside the window of a house that resided on the edge of the suspected area the hollow would be in, belonging to Janus Threshan-- not that Black Cloud was privy to this information. Instead he found himself stepping out of a black hole appearing in the girls bedroom wall, his body draped in the typical black garb of a shinigami; his dual tomahawk holstered on his hips. Red ropes of hair twisted up into a bun on the top of his head the man's face was covered in Cherokee war paint, the top portion of his face painted black while the bottom half was colored white. A red stripe running from each eye like bloody tears.
"Now, let's see what the hollow who's been giving my squad such a hard time is capable of."
He'd speak to no one, ignoring his surroundings while walking toward the window of the room to look out to the park in the area. There were some teens hanging out there despite it being around midnight and he simply observed, golden eyes fixed on them and waiting for the Hollow to show up. Everything was pretty quiet after all and these kids were making a ruckus, apparently something the surviving members of his team explained to him.
"It came so suddenly, in the deep of the night. There was a party, or something... kids getting wasted and doing what teens did, making a cacophony of nonsensical prattle. That's when it came and slaughtered them all, and I tried to stop it but... it was too powerful. It had four arms and two heads, and claws that could shred a bus. I'm sorry captain I failed... I'm sorry."
The explanation rang in his mind over and over. The shaking voice of it's teller in his mind as well while he continued to assess the situation, all of this spanning the course of a few seconds. Even the more hard-hearted of his team were shaken to the core and so he was expecting the worst. Ready at any time to rain down lightning, unaware of anything going on around him while planning.

Janus Threshan was the weirdest human there was. Oracles, prophets, time-mages, whatever you wanted to call them, Janus preferred the term, Diviner. She wasn't omniscient, in fact her ability to view anything at all was limited and it usually meant nothing. Too many people meant that it wouldn't work anyway. If someone had told her "Seeing the future would be overpowered" she would have punched them in the face, after telling them she was going to punch them in the face. Which was pretty much the most apt description of her life. What did seeing anything matter, when you were so focused on looking it would just bite you in the ass, or face in this point.
Janus looked up as something pinged her sense of divination and she looked at her bedroom wall. She had, five minutes, just enough time to get dressed she thought to herself as she yawned. A quick scratch made her wander groggily into her bathroom and shut the door. She quickly tossed on a shirt and jeans, forgoing the bra as something else hammered against her mind. "Oh, that's not good." She said to no one as thousands of Janus began to walk out of her body looking around for what was making her divination scream violence. There was a huge hole, it all lead to violence, but all the kids hanging around nearby were making it impossible to actually path-walk.
Janus stopped and returned to the now, which was actually, she looked at her watch, three minutes from everything going wrong. The problem with Divination was the lack of, inhumanity. Janus would have explained it like this, for every person, they can choose left or right. Each can then go left or right again, eventually with too many people or too many decisions, seeing things was pretty dam hard. So far Janus had two pieces of information. The violence wasn't centered around her and probably couldn't harm her either. There was a black robe coming, and it was centered around them.
So, Janus waited, which honestly was the problem with being a Diviner, you really did spend a lot of time waiting for everything to go wrong. She yawned and looked down at her watch again and then started counting down. "Five... four, three, two, black robe enter stage right." Janus said as the portal opened and the face paint wearing black robe wandered out of the portal.
"Drunks screaming in ten.... nine, eight, seven, six, five..." The young woman said following the black robe and stopping to yawn before sure enough, all hell broke loose outside and the shriek of a hollow came through. Janus was more interested in protecting her house than everything else and there was already someone here to do the heavy lifting so she simply followed the black robe for a bit.
Unfortunately, the chaos wouldn't let Janus see enough to realize just how far down the rabbit hole things were going to end up. The hollow, or at least one, was currently rushing towards the drunks and destroying a fence by the park. It moved in a very insect like fashion as it lashed out towards the civilians, sensing the shinigami and a potentially delicious human that it couldn't pinpoint because what seemed like streamers of reiatsu going in odd directions.

| A voice broke the silence and Black Cloud's eyes would turn briefly to meet the source, almost ignoring what was said until he reiterated her words in his head. The way she was looking at him despite his own invisibility to humans, and he sighed before simply speaking to test his theory. "You can see me." The native man spoke, a matter of fact tone instead of asking. "Your soul is strong but unrefined... interesting."
After all, with a simple outreach of his mind's eye he could feel her spiritual pressure; far stronger than a standard humans. On par with his in fact and so with that he turned back to the scene on queue with the screams of the teens who once were filled with joy but now sheer terror. To see a fence fly from it's position and hear the loud steps of something approaching you was indeed terrifying but that was why the Shinigami was here.
By the time the beast had reached the teens he had already chosen to walk through the woman's door, not entirely aware of her following him as his sights were on the beast. It's clawed arm reeling back to slash through the body of one of the party goer's but meeting sturdy metal instead. Black Cloud had intercepted the beast in what seemed to be a flash with his shunpo and now he stared it down menacingly, his left tomahawk holding strong against the hollow while his right hand hovered over his second tomahawk.
"A creature born from a stagnant soul, I have come to personally purge you from this fate," He was interrupted by a second black limb quickly swiping at his right side, only for him to dodge upward, somersaulting into the skies. Ascending while looking down at the spirit with his second tomahawk now equipped and the thunder twins eager for the flesh of a Hollow. "To cleanse you, so that you may move on to a better after-life."
His enemies limbs reached for him only to be batted away by the spiked pommels of his tomahawks, still floating slowly and swatting away the fists of the hollow. The drunks were of course baffled and likely petrified, even if they could only hear what was happening, but the frustrated beasts cries and slamming of it's fist into the ground creating upturned earth would likely motivate them to move.

Janus followed the black robe to her door and then stopped, going to her fridge and grabbing a yogurt and a spoon. She scratched the back of her neck as she looked through the futures as best as she could for specific points. She flexed her spiritual might only slightly when the black robe rushed out so that she wouldn't be bothered by his power. She followed him a few seconds later and watched him shunpo towards the masked monster.
What was odd was his weapon, as far as Janus knew, spiritual blades didn't usually look like axes, or whatever those things were. Did that mean he had used his release before he had gone after the masked monster? She looked at the humans, wondering how they would fair in a second when the power would wash over them and realized something else pinged her divination. "Well, that's a thing." She stated looking across the park again before she screamed. "Drunks on acid, run away from here, now please."
In an attempt to get them out of the stupor while the black robe went to town. Then she looked at the baseball field in the distance again and sure enough, a garganta began to open. "What a bad night." She said as she flexed her reiatsu as a massive amount of it washed out of the interdimensional portal. "Mister black robe, might want to be quicker about that, there's something much worse coming."
